It was an all-Mission League final on Wednesday night in the championship game of the Easton tournament at Birmingham, and Harvard-Westlake came away with a 6-1 win over Alemany.
Cameron Deere threw 6 2/3 innings for the Wolverines (5-0), striking out five and giving up two hits. Tom Fuller, John Thomas and Jake Suddleson had RBI singles. Brandon Ponticelli took the loss for Alemany (4-1).
St. John Bosco 6, Esperanza 4: The Braves advanced to the championship game of the Newport Elks tournament by scoring two runs in the eighth inning. Kameron Ojeda, Isaak Gutierrez and Chasen Wilson had two hits apiece.
Mater Dei 11, Tesoro 0: Nick Pratto threw six shutout innings and Sam Cachola had three hits for the Monarchs.
Mission Viejo 1, Beckman 0: Vanderbilt-bound Patrick Sandoval struck out six, walked one and threw a four-hitter for the Diablos. Jack Wiese was the tough-luck loser, allowing four hits for Beckman. Cole Joy drove in the game's only run in the fourth inning.
Orange Lutheran 6, Foothill 1: Garrett Mitchell had two hits and two RBI for the Lancers. Jacob Castro struck out five in 3 1/3 innings.
Valencia 9, Rancho Cucamonga 1: Scott Ogrin had three hits, including a leadoff home run. Kevin Chandler picked up the victory.
Riverside JW North 5, Eastvale Roosevelt 4: Brian Martin had three hits for North, which scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Verdugo Hills 10, Hoover 0: Troy Richards had two hits, two RBI and two stolen bases for the Dons. Ivan Gonzalez added two hits, including a double.
Oxnard 8, Granada Hills 0: Jose Rodarte had two hits and four RBI for Oxnard.
L.A Roosevelt 4, University 0: Sergio Valenzuela threw the shutout to improve to 4-0 for the Rough Riders (7-1). Freshman Salvador Zepeda had two RBI.
Brentwood 7, St. Bernard 1: Zach Lewis had a home run, triple and single.
L.A. Marshall 4, Glendale 0: Johnny Vergara threw the shutout and freshman Joseph Padilla had two more hits for the Barristers (8-1-1). Ronald Garcia had two doubles.
Sierrra Canyon 8, Desert Christian 3: The Trailblazers (5-0) won their division championship of the Southern California Invitational. Zach Tavelman allowed two hits in five innings. Brock Bell, Billy Edwards, Jake Patterson, Wesley Wright and Beau Zacharia each had two hits.
Granada Hills Kennedy 23, Van Nuys 2: The Golden Cougars cruised to a mercy-rule Valley Mission League win. Jesus Pineda had three hits and seven RBI.
South Hills 1, Pasadena 0: South Hills improved to 3-1.
Norco 3, Kaiser 0: Sophomore Garrett Irvin threw six shutout innings.
Warren 5, Chino Hills 4: Keaton Freire and Joaquin Castillo combined for 10 strike outs in Warren's eight-inning victory.
San Marcos 1, Palisades 0: Jed Moscot struck out eight for Palisades.
